The Liberation of Auschwitz
January 27 marks the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, the Nazi death camp in south-western Poland. More than a million people - most of them Jewish - were killed in Auschwitz as part of the Nazi’s genocide of European Jews and others during World War II.
This post is for all the victims of these tragedies, for all those who have forgotten them, and for all those that remain ignorant.
Sadly, human suffering did not end on that winter’s day in 1945.
