As a fellow lover of Pet Sounds, I hope you've heard that Brian Wilson's SMiLE is finally out. If they were paintings, Pet Sounds would be a portrait, whereas SMiLE would be a landscape; both beautiful in their own way.

Thanks Karl. I remember reading about Smile in a Beach Boys article several years ago. It is probably one of the most mythical follow-ups that never happened. Is this the same record or a new recording? Either way, it is intriguing news. I know Brian Wilson has suffered from a long period of mental illness and depressions, although I think I read somewhere that he was touring again. If he has managed to pull himself together to make a record, it is even better news. And if all goes well, this will be one for Records - October 2004.

Aaah, the Beach Boys! You're so right when you rate them 10.
