Robert Browne Miller
On display above is "Allow Me", a digital illustration by Robert B. Miller, who writes in his Artist's Statement:
My artwork presents a unique portrayal of the human experience by invoking retro-utopian ideals. A stylistic blend of past eras and modern subject matter, detailed by contemporary lines and held fast with muted hues, instills the viewer with a sense of reflective serenity. My goal is not simply to create decorative art but challenge the viewer's perceptions of the extraordinary and the mundane.
As bold a statement as it is, the artist's later work does an impressive job of backing it up. But there is another, special reason to showcase Miller's artwork here. Sharif Ewees writes about it in a post entitled Great Art, An Even Greater Cause...:
Two years ago, a friend of mine, Rob Miller, passed away suddenly to a latent heart defect. Rob was a skilled web designer, a talented illustrator and, above all, an amazing person.
Another close friend of mine, Dan Hoeck, has worked very hard since Rob's passing to successfully establish a design scholarship in Rob's name at James Madison University. Last week, the first recipient of the Robert Browne Miller Annual Award for Graphic Design was named.
But, this is an annual scholarship that will need our continual support. To help meet these goals, Rob's father has redesigned Rob's website, Miller Visuals and is selling prints of Rob's work (and his own photography), with all proceeds going towards the scholarship fund.
Prints of Rob's designs are available in various sizes; his art and a biography can be found in Rob's section of the site.
Whether you're in the market for some incredible prints, or are just interested in contributing to a truly worthy cause, please pay a visit.

Thanks, Lars, for helping to spread the word about this. I really appreciate it. The more folks we can get to Rob's site, the better.

My pleasure Sharif. Hope it helps, and keep us posted on the scholarship. Would be interesting to learn a bit about the recipients too. And sorry to be late in replying — I thought I did that right after we emailed the other week.
