WordPress 1.5.1.2
I have upgraded my WordPress install from version 1.2.2 to 1.5.1.2. This was a fairly major upgrade, but pretty straightforward once I figured out how themes work. To me, the greatest advantage of themes is that all modified files now live in a single, exclusive directory. This makes it easier than ever to upgrade even heavily modified installs. I also like the new pages functionality, and the ability to include conditional tags. Another welcome improvement is that WordPress now only updates WordPress rules in the .htaccess
file; anything else is left untouched. And WordPress Codex, the revamped documentation wiki, is excellent.
On the flipside, I would have liked to see better counter spam measures built in, although anti-spam plugins are easy to find and install.
In summary, a great piece of software. I look forward to version 1.6.
